Hy Hetherington

Chief Executive Officer

Hy Hetherington has spent his career advising clients throughout every aspect of the litigation lifecycle. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of an international litigation support firm. Previously, Mr. Hetherington held multiple executive positions within SuperiorGlacier, a regional litigation support firm, including Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Hetherington has worked on some of the highest profile and largest legal matters in the United States. He has worked with corporations such as Deutsche Bank, Enron, Fannie Mae, Qualcomm, Petrolera, Worldcom, and Orbital among many others.

Mr. Hetherington is an Endowed Presidential Scholar from the University of Texas. He was the Valedictorian of his graduating class and graduated with highest honors and distinction.

David Foster

Chief Operating Officer

Dave Foster has 25 years experience in equities, lending and risk management. Prior to joining 1624, he was Managing Partner and Founder of Capital Development Partners (CDP), an alternative asset placement specialist, which included 1624 among its clients. Prior to CDP, he was with Fox-Pitt, Kelton for 18 years, consulting with institutional equity investors and helping financial institutions raise capital, including litigation finance peer Burford Capital.

Mr. Foster received his BA from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Business. He is a CFA and holds his Series 24, 7, and 63. 

Bruce Lehman

Chief Patent Officer

Bruce Lehman is the former Commissioner of the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Assistant Secretary of Commerce. As Commissioner, he was responsible for significant changes to Patent law.

In 1999, Mr. Lehman founded the International Intellectual Property Institute. He was named "Lawyer of the Year" by the National Law Journal and was inducted into IP Hall of Fame.

Mr. Lehman received both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

John Scanlon

General Counsel

John Scanlon provides legal advice and services on business development, financing and operations; legal and corporate affairs; strategic corporate events, including mergers, acquisitions and partnerships; contract negotiation, drafting and administration; litigation and dispute resolution; and intellectual property issues. His clients include technology and media businesses, film and television financing, production, broadcasting and distribution companies, investment, asset management and consulting firms, nonprofits, educational institutions, and individual authors, speakers and artists.

John has helped launch, finance and operate several businesses, and advises clients from individuals to multinationals on a wide range of legal matters. He was the founding general counsel of an online trading platform owned by Deutsche Bank, Reuters and Battery Ventures; of a bank holding company; and of an online media company. He also served as chief operating officer of a trade association owned by the six largest US pharmaceutical companies.

John began his legal career in Washington, D.C. and London at Davis Polk & Wardwell, where he advised on securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. At Latham & Watkins, John specialized in capital markets transactions. John earned his J.D. at Georgetown, where he was associate editor of the Georgetown Law Journal, and his B.A. from the University of California, Davis (Phi Beta Kappa).

Frank Schwitter

Senior Financial Analyst

Frank Schwitter is an expert advisor on Damages and Recovery evaluations. Mr. Schwitter serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit and Finance committee of Heico Corp., a NYSE company in the aircraft parts and electronics business.

Mr. Schwitter spent a majority of his career with Arthur Andersen, including as an international partner for twenty-five years. During this time, Mr. Schwitter served as Managing Director of the Firm's International Business Program. After Arthur Andersen, Mr. Schwitter served as a Senior Business Advisor and Technical Consultant to Prasetio, Utomo & Co. in Indonesia. Since 1998, Mr. Schwitter has been engaged as a consultant by law firms to perform litigation examinations and reports.

Mr. Schwitter received his Bachelors degree and Masters of Business degree from New York University.
